In our Licensing Information section you will find further details on the types of licence rights available for the products provided through GFCimages.com.
When a product is licenced as Royalty-free it means that you pay a one-off fee and you may use the image multiple times for multiple projects without incurring additional fees. The pricing for Royalty-free products is based solely on the file size of the product you need and the number of people entitled to use it (maximum 5), not the specific use. You don't have to pay any additional royalties for successive uses of a royalty-free product.
However, as with all GFCimages licences, the rights granted are non-transferable and are personal to you. This means that if you license a royalty-free product to be used in a derivative work by your client or any other person, they may not use the licensed product separately from the derivative work.
Please note that not all of our images are model or property released. It is your responsibility to check whether a model/property release exists and whether your usage requires a release.
Royalty-free licences are always non-exclusive meaning that the product is open for purchase from other buyers and use under the same licence. All licences of royalty-free products are subject to GFCimages' Royalty-Free Licence Agreement.
When a product is licenced as Rights-managed it is licensed with restrictions on usage, such as limitations on size, medium, placement, duration of use and geographic territory. The pricing for RM products will depend on the usage options you select via our price calculator or you can contact us directly to help you determine the price.
RM products can be purchases with Non-exclusive or Exclusive rights. With theNon-exclusive right you pay a licence fee each time you use the image. It also means that the product is open for purchase from other buyers and use under the same licence.
The Exclusive right, as the name suggests grants the buyer exclusive use of the product under the terms of the licence. It generally applies by industry or territory and restricts other buyers from using the image in a similar way. Pricing is usually more expensive and not all images are available for an exclusive licence. All licences of rights-managed products are subject to GFCimages’ Rights-Managed Licence Agreement.
Images in our editorial collections are licensed with restrictions on usage, such as limitations on size, medium, placement, duration of use and geographic territory. Editorial products must be used in an "editorial" manner, which means use relating to events that are newsworthy or of public interest.
If you wish to use an image from our editorial collections for a non-editorial use, you must contact us for assistance. All licences of editorial products are subject to GFCimages’ Rights-Managed Licence Agreement.
